Joy Nwabueze, JD, LDA — flat-fee living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, deeds, trust amendments, certifications of trust & LLC formation for the northwest San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita. Notary on-site. By appointment. CALDA member.
About This Office
By The People Chatsworth is led by Joy Nwabueze, JD, LDA — a registered Legal Document Assistant in Los Angeles County, a member of CALDA (the California Association of Legal Document Assistants), and a notary public. The office focuses primarily on estate planning — the kind of work that protects a home, a savings account, and the people you leave behind — along with the related documents a family usually needs at the same time: deeds, certifications of trust, trust amendments, and a simple LLC if there's a small business in the picture.
We're based in the business complex at 21350 Nordhoff St, Ste 112, just off the 118 freeway in the Chatsworth industrial area — easy to reach from Northridge, Canoga Park, West Hills, Granada Hills, and the Santa Clarita Valley. Appointments are required so Joy has time to go over the California statutory forms you've chosen, answer your questions, and prepare everything before you come in. As a Legal Document Assistant, she can't give legal advice or tell you which documents you need — you pick the forms, and she prepares them at your direction. The office has a notary on-site, so if you need a deed notarized, a trust certified, or a power of attorney witnessed, you can usually do it in the same visit.
A lot of our clients are first-timers to estate planning, and a lot are not — they just don't want to pay an attorney's hourly rate to have the same California statutory forms filled out. Either way, you'll get a flat fee quoted up front, plain-English explanations of what each document does, and the chance to ask as many questions as you need before you sign anything.
Estate Planning Is the Focus
If you need a will, a revocable living trust, a power of attorney, an advance healthcare directive, a transfer-on-death deed, a trust amendment, or a certification of trust — that's our everyday work here. We also handle LLC formation when a client is setting up a small business alongside their personal planning. For other matters like divorce or evictions, give us a call and we'll point you to the By The People office that focuses on those services.
Service Area
Chatsworth and the surrounding northwest San Fernando Valley — Northridge, Canoga Park, West Hills, Winnetka, Reseda, Granada Hills — plus the Santa Clarita Valley: Santa Clarita, Valencia, Saugus, Newhall, and Castaic. If you're not sure whether you're in our area, call or email and we'll let you know.
